ABOUT

There’s no denying the unparalleled RED HOT Heat coming off the stage!

There’s Miss Katie with her confidence of owning the stage for many years coupled with her perfect vocal pitch, power, and rock & roll ferocity.

Multi instrumentalist Mark Basinger is one of those guys who can do it all, whether it’s on keyboards, second lead vocal, or rhythm guitar. He’s a perfectionist and has the amazing talent to back it up.

On lead guitar, we have Adam Taylor, who Katie calls “Spider Man”, as he’ll fly across the stage, put that guitar in your face, play every note to perfection and draw you into his incredible groove and talent.

On drums and straight from Texas is Rob Covey Jr, a true pro who you WILL notice! Not only is he a force to be reckoned with behind his kit, but he is engaging, hilarious, and loves the crowd; and they love him back.

Last but certainly not least is Dave Lorenz on bass. Dave is the back bone of the band, holding down the groove with a precision that is always on cue and in the pocket.

We will hit you with the top hits of the 80s, the songs everyone loves and wants to sing along and dance to. And just to keep you on your toes, you’ll also get some Bruno Mars Uptown Funk and Katy Perry thrown into the mix to get the party started! We are beloved.

Katie

Lead Vocals

Born in Toledo Ohio, and trying to sing before she could talk, family and friends would say that Katie must have been born with a microphone in her hand.

Katie moved to Columbus Ohio as a young teenager, and it didn’t take her long to join a Rock and Roll band named Stryder, playing in and around the OSU campus area. Not even close to being of age to be in a bar, Katie managed to sing in them. Throughout the next decade she joined numerous groups with some of the finest musicians Columbus Ohio had to offer.

Katie’s biggest success was building and playing with the band “Dreamer”  in the 80’s. Dreamer was signed with Louisville, KY based Triangle Talent, and after declining an offer to record and tour with world renowned Jeff Beck due to the time and circumstances, she continued touring the US and Canada with Dreamer for many years, playing for audiences that exceeded 10.000 people (Damn! no cell phones then for any recorded memories!).

Mark

Keys, Guitar & Vocals

Mark Basinger grew up in Lima, Ohio and joined his first band, Cold War, at age 15 as lead singer and rhythm guitarist. Within two years Mark was playing gigs around the Lima area with his next band, Zephyrus, all while still being too young to even buy a beer. When Mark’s next band, The Opposition, already had a very talented lead guitarist, Mark picked up a synthesizer and ventured into the new world of MIDI keyboards, drum machines, and sequencing (on a Commodore 64!).

Rob

Drums

Rob’s kind of a late bloomer when it comes to drumming. He enjoyed learning music from 7th to 12th grade, and placed as an All-State snare drummer in his junior year. After graduating he bought a drum kit and started playing with numerous garage bands at their share of keg parties and such.

Fast forward a number of years later with valuable experience and seasoning, Rob worked with semi-pro seminal jazz fusion band “Fine Line”, opening for the likes of Grover Washington Jr and Al Di Meola.
